Win Boblight for Windows (install and configure)
#31
I don't know what I'm doing wrong here. I've got the lights hooked up correctly and all the other parts of the Adalight tutorial correct, because Adalight works on the desktop.

I'm also pretty sure I've got the config correct, because boblight starts up correctly, blinking in every color once etc. and XBMC succesfully connects. However when I try to play something nothing happens.

Also, when I look in xbmc.log I don't see any boblight entries.

This is (a part of) my boblight.conf:

#[global]

etcetera.

This is the output of boblightd.exe when i start it up:

the 192.168.1.76 connecting is my raspberry pi running raspbmc btw. I tried using that as a client too, with no success.

Are you using the Adalight Arduino software (from their page).

If yes your prefix is wrong, check the config creator in my sig.

If you want you can keep your old config and just copy the device part.

Shouldn't have assumed that the 1 in your sig was the same 1 that came with the boblightd. Tried yours and it works now, thanks alot!

Hello everyone.

Excuse my English, I am using a translator. I come to you because I am not able to run the LEDs.

I have an Arduino Uno. The hardware is fine, because when I plug all the LEDs light up.

The problem I have to take the biblight.conf file. My knowledge of code and programming are zero, and here I lose.

I ask for help. I need to orient themselves to configure this file with this arrangement of LEDs:

can help me?

Can you add the position of your first LED (where its connected to the arduino) and the direction ?

Might I ask why you have don't have 22 leds on the sides and 38 leds on the top/bottom? It's not a problem, just curious Smile

Also, check out this tool:

https://dl.dropbox.com/u/21136636/VS/fin...igTool.exe

It's a graphical tool which generates boblight.conf for you, so no programming skills needed.

I have been struggling to get boblightd to work in in system. I beleie I was able to create a correct boblight.conf file using

BoblightConfigTool.exe

With the config file setup XBMC connects to boblightd and I get the light flashes but I still don't get any lighting effect when watching a movie

Here is the boblight output

c:\boblightd>C:\boblightd\boblightd.exe -c c:\boblightd\boblight.conf

I finally got my setup working.
For my configuration ( 22 lights on the left, 39 along the top and 22 along the right) Boblight Config Creator gives

Code:
[device]
name            ambilight
type            momo
output          /dev/com1
channels        237
prefix            41 64 61 00 4E 1B
interval        20000
rate            115200
debug           off
delayafteropen    1000000

but for it to work in my system I need
Code:
[device]
name            ambilight
type            momo
output          /dev/com1
channels        249
prefix            41 64 61 00 54 01
interval        20000
rate            115200
debug           off
delayafteropen    1000000

I am using the ledstream from the adalight git. and the Boblight from the sig above.

I am curious as to the reson for the difference.

still working for me...

I was wondering where the files come from since I cant find an official source and only some stuff from different forums hosted somewhere.

Would be nice to know what the latest version is.

Hi Everyone,

I use the following setup that I would like make it work with LED RGB strip 60 LEDS with the chip SW2312 with only 3 wires ( Ground, Data, Positive) instead of 4.

-Windows 7 32 bits
-Boblightd for Windows
-Arduino Uno R3 with FASTATMO library codes
- XBMC (last version)
- i7 PC Computer

Everything is working properly and there is no error message on the Arduino compiler, The boblight and XBMC.

So the only problem is to change the codes somewhere to make the SW2812 LED RGB Strip work with that Boblight.

Please advise,

Hello,
I have a pretty basic question,
which one of these led strips do I need for boblight?

I've got everything up and running!
But everytime I restart my HTPC de Arduino Uno loses its sketch, thus requiring to upload the sketch everytime I start the system.
Meaning I need to open Arduino IDE and upload the sketch every single time!!

Is there any way to make the Arduino Uno remember its sketch?
