I wanted to build not only an HTPC but a new computer that would save space and allow me to use my 42" TV as a monitor. Please let me know what you think. Here is what I came up with:
CPU: Core i7-2600K (I got this on Black Friday for $270. A little steep but I don't want to upgrade for a long long time.)

Heat Sink: Cooler Master Hyper 212 Plus (This was a Black Friday deal $15 that I couldn't pass up.)

MoBo: The Intel 7 Series Mini-ITX board (This was what I had my eye on for a while and decided to make a move for it. $130)

Memory: G. SKill Ripjaws X Series 16GB (2x8GB sticks DDR3 1600) (I saw these on Newegg for $50 and I figured...meh)

GPU: In my current PC I have a Radeon HD 6770 1GB card that I plan to yank out and use on this HTPC. so FREE
Power Supply: My brother had a 700W power supply laying around from an old build he had so he let me snag it for free. Can't beat that)
Case: BitFenix Prodigy (I saw this case in Maximum PC and really liked the design. The price tag was a bit steep for me but the design was what I wanted. $80)

DVD-Burner/ROM: I had one of these in my old PC that I snagged SATA. FREE
OS: I have an OEM of Win 7 64 bit and will transfer it over to this PC once it is up and running. So my OS is "FREE"
All in all I spent $545. Once all the parts come in I will post build pictures if anyone is interested.
Please let me know what you think so far.
