Frodo clean install
#1
Had to wipe my ssd and reinstall everything, previously I had Eden and neon installed, then I installed beta 1 of Frodo and all was well.

So when I did a fresh install i thought I'd just go for beta 1 and neon, however skins don't show up in add ons and even trying to install from zip a message comes up that resources don't match (can't quite remember the exact message). . . .

So what's the trick to get neon installed on Frodo (apart from Eden - neon - Frodo)

Cheers

How come the 'upgrade' route worked?

Oh well hopefully one of the nicest skins will be available sometime in the future?

The upgrade route works fine. I did the same and am running Neon (SVN) on Frodo.

I guess you should be able to download a zip from the SVN version and install that. I haven't noticed much wrong with it really, except for the progressbar when doing a library update was missing for some reason.
I happily copied that over from another skin after seeing an error in the xbmc log and although it looks a bit funky while updating - well - I don't update my database all the time so I can live with it.

I guess the upgrade worked because the Neon skin is already installed, but it is not included (like many other skins) in Frodo beta.

You could install the SVN through the passion-xbmc plugin though I am not sure if that works with Frodo beta,

I usually keep a copy of .xbmc just in case anyway and that preserves my Neon skin and settings.

Hey guys,

I ended up having to clean-install my OS, which resulted in me "losing" Neon when I went directly to Frodo.
I have installed it on a seperate Eden install, then pulled and zipped the skin content.
I have hosted it here for your convenience Smile

Thank you very much indeed SleepyP but I get an error showing 'Dependencies not met!' Sad

Sorry about that, forgot that Neon has several helper scripts it uses.
Unzip this and stick the scripts in your add-ons folder and you should be good to go Smile

martix, you could go to http://passion-xbmc.org/addons/ and download the Neon skin there as a zip file

I tried this method before and it didn't work, had the dependancies not met error . . . although looking again today I see top right on the site you can select 'frodo' then select neon as a skin . . . thats obviously what I didn't do / I did wrong last time?

Am I right in assuming that doing the above and installing via zip the skin installs without problems?
