Just made fresh install of WIN8, due to following reasons from this thread :
1) Faster boot
2) Uses less resources
3) Better media perfomance (decoding and encoding)
4) Better power managment
5) Support for USB 3.0
However, I am having huge lag while browsing library in windows 8 (32bit), i.e. betwen loading thumbs (DVD case) and fan art.
Just cant explain it, it is deja vu experience from WIN 7 which I used before. I hoped that would be solved on WIN 8.
It only happens while browsing the xbmc library on win7&8, no matter how big is my library (at the moment there is 30 movies) and no matter which skin is in use.
At the moment I'm using AEON nox (DVD cover, showcase, W/O coverflow animation etc.) on foxconn nt-a3550 (e-350 AMD fusion, 4gb RAM, Verbatim SSD64gb). I have latest BIOS version, also I have downloaded latest drivers for AMD.
I have also tried OpenElec on same machine (AEON nox also) and I don't have those lag issues, but again due to AMD drivers there are other problems on Openelec (e.g. video calibration not saved after reboot (I need to adjust it manually every time when I power on the box), suspend is not working etc.)
If someone had similar issues and hopefully has find a solution to this problem I would appreciate advice.
Sorry for bad english (not my native language)
