Apparently remote problems

Why is it that no remotes, and even the "official", app will work? I I have a static ip and all the settings in xbmc set correctly. Actually, i found an obscure android app called Yatse which finally worked. Im just wondering why the official app doesnt work?

My remote works just fine...

I assume you are talking about the remote apps not actual remote control devices. The official remote app works just fine on the latest official stable build. Frodo has dropped support for the http api which all of the remote apps were using. The api being used now has not been rolled out on most remote apps because Frodo has not yet reached stable status. When Frodo final is released, most or all of the remote apps will most likely be updated to reflect the new api (most are working on it now, I believe).
