I don't see why someone with the PlexPass doesn't request the GPL'd code for the new Desktop Client and create a fork on github. Something like this is inevitable (unless Plex has moved core functionality to binary blobs or used a TIVO-like system.) Their users seem to have already noticed that Plex has cherry picked around key XBMC features in order to avoid competition with their own plug-ins and server (add-on support, local media sources, PVR.)
