Linux Frodo - No sound after resume from suspend
Ok here's my log file:

http://paste.ubuntu.com/5572752/

It contains a clean shut down and startup, and then a bad one where there was no sound. Hopefully it's not too confusing.

When I resume from sleep - no sound
I sleep and immediately resume, I get sound.

I've noticed when there is no sound, the amp says decoder off, whilst it says PCM, when I'm getting something. I'm running the first release of frodo, was a clean xbmcbuntu install.

@funkigreendog: it has been said more then once now, you need to run a nightly, but you have frodo stable

Thanks for that. Can anyone explain what I need to run from a terminal to update to a nightly build?

Edit: is this what I need to run?

sudo apt-get install python-software-properties pkg-config
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:team-xbmc/xbmc-nightly
apt-get update
sudo apt-get install xbmc

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:team-xbmc/xbmc-nightly
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get upgrade

Thanks for that. At the risk of being a pain, how would I then revert back to the official release if need be?

Would it just be:

sudo ppa-purge -r ppa:team-xbmc/xbmc-nightly
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get upgrade
Reply
You should just need the first line.
Reply
sudo apt-get remove xbmc xbmc-bin
sudo ppa-purge -r ppa:team-xbmc/xbmc-nightly
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install xbmc xbmc-bin

error wait:
sudo ppa-purge ppa:team-xbmc/xbmc-nightly <- this should be enough alone (without the -r)

OK, I upgraded to the nightly build, but the issue was still there - no sound.

As always: full xbmc.log after Suspend with debugging turned on.

I already posted one on the previous page.

This was whilst on 12.0. I assume you don't need it off the nightly.

I exactly need the one from the nightly, this is why I asked.

Ok no probs. Will get one up when I get a chance. Thanks.

according to this log, you probably didn't even have sound before suspend.

Also, do you really have a 3.1 speaker setup?
CSoftAE::InternalOpenSink - Using speaker layout: 3.1

Which AVR are you using?
Unable to obtain ELD information for device "hdmi:CARD=NVidia,DEV=0"

first of all, delete /etc/asound.conf and ~./asoundrc
Then make sure that sound works properly before suspend.
Reply
Definitely had sound before the suspend.

Yes I do have a 3.1 setup.

My receiver is a Yamaha RX-V667 (hopefully that's what you were after).

Neither asound files exist.
