Linux Spradic No Audio
#1
Hi

I hope you can help me. I'm facing a problem with XBMC for several years now.
I had those problems with Opensuse and now with Ubuntu 12 and Frodo Beta3.

Everything is fine and suddenly from one day to the next it's broken.
When XBMC get started everything is fine. I navigate through the menus and I can hera the clicking noise.
But as soon as I want to watch a movie audio is gone. The video is running crappy. During video start I get this log messages:

When the movie gets stop audio in system menus is also gone.
I opnly have this problem with XBMC. _EVERY_ other programm is running fine. When the problem happens xbmc blocks the audiodevice. When I kill xbmc I can use the audiodevice with aplay again.

How can the audiodevice be busy when XBMC was able to use it just 1second before?

Audio is an onboard analog audio with 5.1 speakers connected:
aplay -L:
surround51:CARD=SB,DEV=0
HDA ATI SB, ALC888 Analog
5.1 Surround output to Front, Center, Rear and Subwoofer speakers

When this problem happens I have to use kill -9 to kill xbmc.

What can I do to finally solve this issue?

I really like XBMC but this is a issue I'm facing for YEARS now and I already tried different Linux distributions and setting.

After a long time changen audio configuration over and over again it suddenly start to work again but I can't see any difference in System.
