I have a very hard problem to crack
Running win7 and frodo beta 3
Windows settings for ae are all set correctly
Video settings in ati control panel all set up correctly
Video and audio settings in xbmc are set correctly using wasapi
But then it comes
Playing some movies, i tested 10 movies, some which have heavy parts like transformers 3 opening scene, and lots more, all play without slightest hickup in full hd and hd audio..

Then i have 2 concerts also in bluray format namely, u2 live at rose bowl and adele live at royal albert hall
As soon as it starts, it hicks... I dunno why..
And why dont i have this with some other movies
However
If i test it with the same machine, without xbmc but with powerdvd , it plays just fine
When i play it with different machine, win 7 and frodo beta 3 also (nvidia) , all plays fine again

I dunno where to look
Settings are just right...

Only thing i havent tried is guisettings.xml issue but i cant believe that would fix it

I was trying another video, clash of the titans,a bluray but in iso format
Hell, that one isnt even watcheable, but perhaps this is cause its a bluray iso?
Frames dropped from 24fps to 8fps!
I went in windows, and it detected that my amd drivers 12.08 were old and i installed latest 12.10
Problem with this file and the other 2 still remains,

I do not know if my findings can help.

If I have WASAPI turned on I can play movies with HD-Audio smooth. But AC3 movies are choppy.
If I use DirectSound, movies with AC3 are smooth. But movies with HD-Audiare choppy.

I use 5.1 Analog out to my reciever.

Could it be the same for you?

Nope
For ex adele is also hd-dts track, and in all bluray movies it runs perfect... Then why not with adele and u2 too?
I can live with clash of the titans not running cause that can be cause its a br iso file.. Im gonna unzip that one and change format, but adele and u2 should just run...

Have you try to select speaker configuration in Frodo to 7.1? I noticed when playback 5.1 audio codec in the 2.1 system it stuttering/choppy like crazy, but it playback very smooth when I set it to 7.1 in Frodo. The AVR seem to decode and process it correctly with the 7.1 speaker configuration.....

It seems weird, but it didn't work when I selected 2.1 in Frodo for my bedroom speaker system is 2.1. It worked with 7.1 speaker configuration in Frodo, and it seem to bitstream the HD audio codec to my AVR fine. As long it work, I'm okay with that.......

Oh, one more thing. I selected "stereo" and exclusive mode is enabled in Windows control panel .....

I notice that Clash of the Titans file is VC-1 video, have you checked the media details of all the files that don't play properly? could they all be VC-1?

gonna test clash of the titans right away cause i pulled it out the iso format


Edit: clash of titans isnt problem anymore, i ripped it out of iso and now is playing in full 1080 and hd audio without stuttering

Only those 2 concerts still have probs

Tried madonna sticky and sweet tour. Which is mkv file and has avc in mediainfo
Same problem... Stuttering..
Can we conclude its a fault?
I dunno?
Next steps i should test?
