I'm on debian 7 x64 with Atom D525 + ION2.
Do you think a soft is missing on my installation ?

make sure that in your screen calibration the subtitles are not set to be outside of the screen...

The cablibration is OK, I've already put the subtitles higher in the screen to be sure :/
I've make a try with openelec 2.95, it's ok. So i continue to check what i miss on my debian .

I made a new install of debian wheezy with FRODO BETA, I've still have the problem.
No errors in the xbmc.log. Is there any package to install in order to get subtitles ? I've got the minimal installation. I stil have a X with xdm and wmfs2.

I've check the libass is already installed. I've make a try with fluxbox to be sure it's not a problem with wmfs, but i've no subtitle too.
Is there a thing like libxosd2 or xosd-bin that xbmc use to display the subtitles ?
Maybe a problem, In fact those line only appears when i disable subtitle. When i active them, there is no log..

(yes, I know this is an old thread)

I assume you're using packages from http://www.deb-multimedia.org/?

If so, it's an incompatibility between the (external) version of ffmpeg used in the deb-multimedia packages and xbmc.

I've submitted a patch to xbmc and to the deb-multimedia maintainer.
