xbmc remote libraries show "no items found"
#1
I was running xbmc v12 prealpha for about a week on my G-Box Midnight, which worked flawlessly. I then found xbmc remote that would work with my iPhone, so I started to set it up thinking this is a really awesome way to control the box. The remote works no problem but in the libraries for movies and tv shows, it shows "no items found". After search after search, I find nothing about this issue and see that I dont even have the most recent edition of xbmc, so I update it to v12 RC1. Well, the library is now found on the xbmc remote but when I play videos they are really choppy. Why would the old version work and not the new??

What likely has happened is that your G-Box came with a build of XBMC that had hardware decoding for AMLogic chips enabled. Since the public beta/release candidates we release are for the general public, this hardware decoding isn't enabled (I'm assuming this part. One of our devs will likely know for sure).

This is not an official build, but I found this link from a thread about the G-Box Midnight: https://dl.dropbox.com/u/48024258/xbmcap...121214.apk

That should give you the best of both worlds.

I'm in the same situation and the above URL from Ned Scott didn't help. Next step for me is testing this one http://androidtvbox.us/topic/xbmc-12-rc-...amlplayer/

I found the link cr_972003 posted after I posted the thread. So far everything works great. It froze up when I exited out of xbmc, which really isnt a big deal.
