Anyone else experiences this? I was hoping it would get ironed out during the development cycle, but now that we have achieved RC status...

I was getting a tiny bit of crackling on just about everything the other day when I tried it with the analog output. I haven't really looked into it yet, but my current theory is maybe there's some RF interference coming over the USB power.

But what I hear is only in between songs, not during the song. It's as if someone is putting the needle on the 45" each time Smile

I have found this: http://www.raspberrypi.org/phpBB3/viewto...35&t=20445

As I bought the Pi especially to play audio using analogue, I think I'm gonna be screwed...
It seems the only solution is to buy extra hardware for now: http://www.raspberrypi.org/phpBB3/viewto...38&t=20866

I was wondering, instead of going the USB sound way (which does not work out of the box either), wouldn't it be possible to just use an HDMI to RCA convertor? http://www.amazon.com/SODIAL-HDMI-RCA-Ca...3240924-20

That looks like a passive cable, which won't work. You need an active cable (with DAC) - that can work.

I think there's an actual HDMI to VGA+audio converter floating around for $15-20 USD.

Thanks for looking into this Ned! I'll try to get a cable like that shipped to Europe.

Edit: found one! http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/HDMI-Male-Inpu...43659#shId

Thanks again!

I did switch from using the analog port to use to HDMI signal with a HDMI splitter (Ligawo ® HDMI Decoder). This does work fine for me, no klicking or any other turbulances.
