failed to intialize audio device
#1
I have tried to play the movies with other players and VLC WILL play the movies i find on NAVIX STREAMS THAT HAVE dts or dolby digital all my movies that have it work fine but I cant get them to play with default xbmc player. i have it setup as dolby digital ac checked and dts is checked under setting have also tried only one checked whatever files im playing I have some DTS STAR TREK AND they play find and spdif works with an external player but i wanted to get xbmc to play them so i can play all the movies without having to shutdown and download them and have them play externally everytime i want to see something in dts or dolby digtial here is my log file

Ive seen a52 codec work with other players then I get a dts or dolby digital light how to I add A52 codec into XBMC for all dolby digital and dts movies
How do I implement that a52 codec into xbmc when it plays a dolby digital 5.1 or dts how could I get it to enable a52 codec wave32 like it does in my external player vlc ..

I get the dreaded 'failed to initialize audio device' error.

Im running soundblaster audigy and a yamaha rx-v363

From the log snippet that looks like Eden - have you tried a Frodo RC version?
System: XBMC HTPC with HDMI WASAPI & AudioEngine - Denon  AVR-3808CI  - Denon DVD-5900 Universal Player  - Denon DCM-27 CD-Changer
- Sony BDP-S580 Blu-Ray  - X-Box 360  - Android tablet wireless remote - 7.1 Streem/Axiom/Velodyne Surround System
If I have been able to help feel free to add to my reputation +/- below - thanks!

Check if the soundblaster supports passthrough of DTS and Dolby Digital. Upgrading to a HDMI GPU is recommended.

yes i have the option set for spdif passthrough on my soundblaster and so far i found only one media play that plays sound correctly . vlc does it fine after i select a/52 and when i select a dts star trek i get the dts light on my reciever and plays perfectly so does all the dolby digital lights up ok on reciever So howw do i enable an a/52 codec into xbmc is there someway to get xbmc to filter audio throught that codec to passthrough all dts and dolby digtial using

VLC Shows w32 waveout extension and i put check in the spdif passthrough and it works for all my dolby digital and dts > >Lights come on reciever for when dolby digital plays and the dts formats work fine in the vlc anyone know much about this . Im ok with adding or editing any but im not a programmer.
