Question on AMD/Frodo
#1
I am running Eden on a E350 AMD based htpc and 1080p movies play on that very well. Then I installed OpenElec for AMD fusion on the same pc and there also 1080p played well. But, when I install Frodo AMD RC1 on the same h/w and try to play the same 1080 movies - it stutters very badly and basically makes it unwatchable.
What am I missing? Any pointers would greatly help.
Thanks,
/KR

I had this on my i3/AMD 7750 in Windows 7. Switching from DirectSound to WASAPI and now it's fine.

Update: AMD RC2 fixed the video playing issues and now it's smooth.

One observation I made was - when I do a library update (mainly the Music library) - both the CPUs peak to almost 100% and stays there during the update - which then makes the playback stutter. I'd think the library update is more a network + disk thing - not sure why CPU is peaking at 100%... Am I missing something?
