Linux autoplay DVDs not working

Hello, I would like some help debugging why auto-play of DVDs is not working.
I'm running Fedora 18 with XFCE and XBMC CR2 rpmfusion build. It works nice so far but auto-play of media does not work.

A detail is that I have 2 optical drives, because laptop is positioned so that I can't access the integrated one. When I click on play disk, it just says it can't find next playlist element or something like that (translating from local language). If the integrated optical drive is full, it is spun up before I see that message. So perhaps there is some way to select the optical drive for use?
I'm using an external USB drive. Additionally when I click on play disk it does nothing. I have to go to video->files-> DVD name -> VIDEO_TS -> select the IFO file.

Using the standalone mode does not help.
