Win Frodo - Bluray rips to folder - images labeling
#1
Has something changed with this? While all the other images for regular movies seem to be ok images are not all coming through for my bluray rips. Current structure...

Videos\Movies\Bluray\The Dark Knight Trilogy\Batman Returns\

folder.jpg

Videos\Movies\Bluray\The Dark Knight Trilogy\Batman Returns\BDMV\

index.bdmv
index.nfo
index.tbn
index-fanart.jpg
index-trailer.mov
MovieObject.bdmv

Should work or at least it did in Eden. The funny thing is that sometimes the folder.jpg gets picked up. For example,

Videos\Movies\Bluray\The Dark Knight Trilogy\The Dark Knight Rises\

folder.jpg

That gets picked up. But the fanart doesn't. This also happens with Bluray folders with only one movie (not a set)

Actually, it looked like it was the same but I had checked on phone. I'll have to see about changing it to what you have it to see if it works

i used to use several external metadata grabers,
but somehow they all mess it up where they store the .nfo and fanart.
seems there's no rule where it should be stored.
some scrapers store it in the moviename\BDMV\STREAM\ and others use other naming options.

Well after testing a few i decided the best scraper in my opinion that works for XBMC (movies) will be Universal Scraper together with Artwork Downloader provided with XMBC.

I’ve the option to choose which scraper to use for which item (imdb/tmdb) and even which language to use for the plot or title,
I’ve the option to choose which cover/fanart should be shown.

Why i prefer this option?
Well i did some testing with Frodo and so on.
And i noticed it had issues to find my selected fanart/covers and all.
Tested also fresh installs.
After looking around in my movie folders i noticed allot of stuff that isn't been used in XBMC,
(And .nfo files been misplaced with my Blu-ray remux rips with folder structure)

What i did was the following
Choose all my fanart and other art i wanted.
Then i went to my movie folder(keep xbmc running) and deleted all *.jpg/*.tbn/*.nfo/*.bmp/*.png/fanart/extrafanart/actors
Then i went back to xbmc and choose their Export Video Library with the option export to separate files.
Then you get the option if you want to store all thumbnails and fanart and yes even watched status.
You also can choose if you want to export the actors (your choice)

Result:
A nice clean movie folder with only the stuff XBMC uses.
And when you need to import it to an update or a re-install.
It has all your fanart/posters whatever you've setup like you want.

Only thing you need to remember if you want to do a clean install or an update first choose export again so all your watched status will be updated.

And i also let the Universal Scraper do my new movies i add.

only thing i need to be sure off is that my folders are named correctly.

I actually prefer using Metabrowser. I just went on the forum and looks like I need a plugin for Frodo so about to give that a try to see how it changes things

i'm still looking for a scraper that uses the excisting .nfo files and stores the fanart and .nfo also in the same locations that XBMC does,
i tried a few but some of them make new .nfo files and store them again somehwere else

How would that help?

Because I like to have it clean.
And not scattered around all the different locations.
If I all ready have a .nfo file why would it need to make a new one in another location.
Same with fanart.
A lot of scrapers use different location and naming for there fanart and and .nfo files.
But if a scraper would use the already present .nfo you could edit it or add missing stuff.
But that won't happen till they all use a fixed location where to store the fanart and .nfo files.
Especially if you use folder structure.
If you got a single .mkv file in your folder it work most of the time.

Ah ok. I actually don't mind having the two locations but it does require having to clean the library and rescan
