Bug Backslash key crashes xbmc and Xorg on Gnome and Cinnamon desktops
#16
wsipex,

your ppa has really solved the issue reported in this thread, with no such crashes any more on several systems.

However, I am still suffering from XBMC Myth PVR messing up Myth backend recordings (http://forum.xbmc.org/showthread.php?tid=152511).

In this last post to that thread

In the myth-pvr add-on config there is a new menu selection at the bottom that will ask what you want to do when the backend needs the tuners. I tell mine to kill LiveTV. You can play with that and see if it helps.
djroketboy mentions a config item in cmyth, which does not exist in my installation. Is that variant of the myth-pvr add on from yet another ppa/source, or is it supposed to be in your ppa also? If not present, could you integrate it?

I have no idea about mythtv, but if that is a newish feature, you might want to use the testing-ppa which has recent pvr addon packages.

Thanks. I found your testing ppa (http://ppa.launchpad.net/wsnipex/xbmc-xv...ing/ubuntu) and it does provide the mythtv-cmyth-pvr client in version 1.7.10 which, under Configure, offers a "Conflict handling" option for the situation when you want to watch live-tv on a tuner, which is recording.

I did a few tests, and it worked in some, but not in others. Definetively an improvement, but not finished yet.
