atv1 1080 with SD files... or stay at 720...

So call me paranoid, but i havent tested this myself because last time i tried to change resolutions my xbmc install freaked out and i lost everything...

But i'm installing my Crystal HD card in my atv, but my question is... well two... all my HD files at the moment are 720 but i do have a lot of SD stuff as well, basically question i'm asking is, my denon (2313 fwiw) upscales all non 1080p signals (what i send to my TV) quite nicely and i think that SD actually looks pretty decent. My question is, if i bump my resolution up to 1080p on my atv/xbmc, apart from being able to use 1080p video files, will i lose quality on my SD files? or does XBMC do a pretty good job of scaling... or actually... does XBMC just pump out whatever res the video is...

Hopefully its a pretty simple question Smile and hopefully i actually make sense!

Sorry for the wrong forum post!!

Looks like that native resolution project that's on its way slowly would be absolutely perfect for me!

(for anyone who's thinking the same thing)

But i guess the whole 720 xbmc with SD upscaled vs 1080p xbmc with SD native quality still stands.
