Over the last few weeks, my LatestEpisode and Recommended episode widgets have changed their behavior. Instead of playing when clicked, clicking on them now flips the tile and shows me more information. This is problematic because then moving my mouse over the screen actually switches to another show based on what's behind the screen. Anyway to change this back so I can click to play?

Is there any way to disable the play dialog in the Mixed Tv widget ?

I am also interested in this. I like Nox 4.0 quite a bit, but I'm at the same time not a huge fan of all the additional button presses required to play content sprinkled around.

EDIT: I could adjust it so it only asks when more than one button is visible. perhaps that would be a compromise.
The additional keypresses are the only way to get a powerful main menu without fucked up navigation.

Two possible suggestions/alternatives...

- An option to "Quick play" in skin settings. I personally prefer less dialogs in favor of actions instead -- I miss the days when I could "Press up to play trailer" on my remote (I was never a fan of burying this in any of the menus for the same reasons).

- The default action could be quick/immediate play, and you could do something like the old "press up to play trailer" to show the current dialog with extended options

Honestly it's really as simple as remote vs. mouse. The current stuff makes plenty of sense with a mouse, but with a remote, it leans more towards hassle to nest dialogs.

I started writing that reply before the edit, so it wasn't considering the new notes.

- "Fucked up navigation" seems to lean more towards mouse navigation, I'd have to argue in the opposite direction when it comes to remote-based navigation

nope, that´s not true.
navigation keys should always do what they are intended for: navigating. every professional UI designer will tell you that.
+ cluttering the screen with navigation hints is also not an option for me.

I don't disagree about navigation, the difference as I see it (and point I was trying to make) is that there are fundamental differences between mouse and remote navigation -- what you're saying really applies to mouse based point and click navigation. For remote based navigation, it's _supposed_ to be key based.

Either way, you're the dev, not me. Although it'd be nice if you could point me in the right direction for making the mods myself, I don't mind going that route.

no, that applies to 10 foot interfaces in general and can be found in all UI design guidelines for platforms of the bigger companies (Google TV, XBOX360 etc)
you´d have to adjust some of the invisible buttons at the beginning of home.xml if you want to change that.

I have movies sets on and I can't get any to show up and when I try to open movie sets it says script py failure bla bla...

Should I just update to GIT to see if that fixes it?

I use frecuently x-sopcast add-on: http://forum.xbmc.org/showthread.php?tid=129996

When I try to play any channel with Aeon Nox, the add-on returns me to the channel list (without any error). With Confluence the channel plays correctly...what's wrong?

The addon maker needs to add a default skin folder. Instead he added a folder called skin.confluence. Try renaming the skin.confluence directory in /home/xbmc/.xbmc/addons/plugin.video.xsopcast/resources/skins/ to Default. Then it should work.
