Linux Strange Problem I've Never Seen Before

I have Linux Mint 14 on my computer,just installed XBMC 12rc3 and after I start it and go to the settings menu only a small part of the menu shows up. I can't change any settings becuase I can see about a 1/4 of the menu screen. When I exit the settings menu the regular menu doesn't show back up and I have to close XBMC and restart it. Has anyone ran into this?
