Problem with official XBMC remote app connectivity with eventghost

First of all, props to the XBMC team for such a great piece of software. Hands down the best media program I've experienced. And respect to the guys who are working on the official XBMC remote app, as well. The only bad experiences I've had with either are due to my own weakness with computers.

I've been running XBMC on a windows 7 pc (64 bit) now for about a year. I love it. About 6 months ago, I started running the official remote app on my Samsung tab, with very satisfying results. Both the app and XBMC have worked well 'out of the box,' and only get better the more I personalize them.

The only problem is, I'm a tinkerer...

So I recently decided to run XBMC exclusively through eventghost, from startup, with no windows shell. No problems there, with an easy-to-follow tutorial. But when I did so, my remote app stopped finding my pc. What up with that? I'm guessing I have to run another program through eventghost on startup? Any help would be great. Note: I am a bit of a noob, but also a geek wannabe, meaning I'm not afraid to mess with the system, but will need someone to hold my hand through it.
