the dvd player is only default for dvd's. this includes actual discs, video_ts folders played from an .ifo file, and img and iso files.

i've submitted and official feature request here:
http://sourceforge.net/tracker....=581841

i though i'd see here too.

have each movie remember which movie player was selected, i have a collection of vobrips (.vob) which usually crash mplayer at 1080i but play beautifully in dvdplayer. it's a pain having to select dvdplayer each time and especially if i'm not the one using the box it can be confusing.
The Thread Killer!

is it possible to change the default video player from mplayer to dvd player? is there some xml file that i can edit to change this behaviour?

i have plenty of video files and since i installed one of the latest versions of xbmc none open with mplayer. however almost all of them play with dvd player. so i'd like to change the default playe while the developpers work on the mplayer issues.

is this possible?

thanks!

p.s.- btw, when i try to use the mplayer, the window that should come up showing the caching progress appears "transparent" and it just stays stuck. if i click cancel i see a "cancelling" message but xbmc does not respond anynore.

so isn't this possible to do?

actually, some videos do not play at all, regardless of whether i use dvdplayer or mplayer, but still dvd player seems to work best. i hope these problems are fixed for 2.0.0!
