i've been testing mediaportal over the last week or so and am generally happy with what it offers...

i wasn't aware the XBMC now offers TV,EPG and PVR functionally, which is why i'm back asking questions.

can it do everything MediPortal is able to do ?
are there streaming TV plugins ?

Xbmc is just a pvr frontend, so you will need a pvr backend like mediaportal for it to work. In short xbmc will control mediaportal and display live tv, epg etc features from mediaportal inside xbmc. This way you'll not have to see mediaportal.

I have been using MediaPortal during many years and I am now using XBMC Frodo RC3 + Tvheadend under Linux. It can do everything MediaPortal used to do.
