Solved Crash on next music track
#46
I'm seeing this issue as well. Here's a dump of what I know about my setup thus far.

xbmc from the stable ppa: 2:12.1~git20130317.2015-frodo-0precise
visualizations are off
alsa only, pulseaudio is not installed
an indeterminate number of songs play before crashing
hitting 'forward' on my remote skips past the song and everything appears to work normally afterwards until the next hang
playing any song that hung manually shows no issues.

I'll try to get a debug log of a short run that hangs, all of my logs thus far are too long for pastebin variants.

For now I'll try the 1s crossfade workaround.

@Project5

Not sure if it matters:

HDMI output to amp ?
What type of files are you playing?
Does pressing STOP when it hangs makes XBMC unresponsive?

thx

Audiophile setting and crossfade won't work. Audiophile means: Open a very new sink for new content to play this one in a native manner.
@uomiarz: You are running pulseaudio, so the audiophile option won't work as intended, everything is resampled / modified by the pulse sink.

@uomiarz

My setup is xbmc -> Onkyo amp -> Sony tv
These are all mp3 files (and I do have libmad0 installed)
Stop does make xbmc unresponsive, as does play. Only forwarding to the next track seems to work

Since enabling crossfading last night, I didn't see the issue, but I'm pretty sure it remains; when I stop playing music and go to play a video, xbmc will become unresponsive in the same way.

I'll see about getting a debug log dump of that.

Hello!
I have same problem with stopping playing song 6 seconds before end. And it's always with ALAC files. If I play MP3 - everything is fine.

My configuration:
Mac mini 2012
HDMI connected to yamaha receiver RX473 (which is connected to Philips TV)
Visualization on/off - no matter
Crossfade on/off - no matter

I've got this problem on XBMC 12 and XBMC 13 (nightly builds) as well.

BTW, When I set audio out to Analag, problem is gone, but I need HDMI Smile
Any ideas?

Hi to all, i have the same problem, the only difference is in the HT, mine is ONKYO.
I think that this is an important bug, a media player is often used with music and HT, my surprise is how few users report this failure.
I hoped in a solution to this fault, but time passes and no good news about this.
Anyway who know?

Sorry for post in Linux section and not in Mac, but this thread show exactly my situation.

For the Linux folks:
Install a nightly build and start it with:
Code:
AE_ENGINE=ACTIVE xbmc

Problem gone?

Same problem here, see
http://forum.xbmc.org/showthread.php?tid=181818

I have read this thread, but since I am on a MacMini, I have no idea what to do. Has this ever been solved?
Here is my xbmc.log

Any help would be very much appreciated.
Thanks
