I hope somebody will answer this...

Where the heck is the log file? In the GUI I see /home/pi/.xbmc/temp/xbmc.log

but via ssh there is no such folder

Folders and items named .xxxxx (dot first) is hidden.
If you use a ftp client with sftp you need to enable the feature to see hidden files.

In terminal, cd .xbmc and you´re there.

Yes, I did a mistake in SSH on my MacBook. To stupid to mention...
