I've Just built an HTPC with windows 8 and maybe someone can help me with a few little problems i'm trying to resolve.


First here's my specs:

Intel DC3217IYE
with 8 gigs ram, 128gb SSD and Windows 8 64 pro with Media Center.
Also picked up an IR reciever from ebay The lenovo OVU43006 model number

I'm using an Logitech Harmony One remote to control this.

I've basically been able to control everything via the remote. Except one wierd issue. When the HTPC is first Booted, I am unable to Launch XBMC.. How I launch XBMC is I have the shortcut pinned to my Task bar.. Along with Hulu Desktop and WMC.

So basically When I hit the XBMC button on my Harmony remote, it sends the command of "Windows key + 1" which should launch XBMC.. Well when windows first boots, it's in the Metro screen and seems to not respond to that button press. BUT when I hit the button I have mapped for JUST the windows key to break out to the desktop, everything seems to launch like normal.. It's ONLY after the PC boots for the first time.


any suggestions?
