according to elupus comments this patch seems to break other code/functions (to allow remote to zoom in and switch view)?

1) did two threads just get merged?

2) i don't know how difficult it would be, but is it possible to look for a matching txt file (foo.txt would match foo.jpg) and use it to display on screen for captions?

i pre apologize. i suggested this feature before, but the thread diappeared. if it got deleted for some reason, let me know, i won't post it again. the cpp already exists, yes, so i thought suggesting a merge would be in order. i don't have the knowledge of c++ to use the cpp for myself, so i thought for everyone, maybe this feature would be helpful, whether you use the zoom to read comics or look at porn or family photos or whatever, everyone could use a faster scroll.

thnx

Thumbs Up
when trying to use xbmc as a picture viewer, i realized it is much slower than e.g. acdsee on win32.
the delay after pressing the next button is rather long, especially if you load from dvd. would it be possible to pre-load the next image to memory so it gets displayed instantly?

maybe the next bunch of images could be copied to hdd into a temp dir?

let me know what you think about this, imho it would increase the viewers experience a lot.

edit: thanks for merging it with this thread, didn't know this was already discussed. apparently slideshow isn't a very important feature to the devs, understandable. maybe when the dvd player is ready there will be time for tweaks like this one.
