This could be a skin issue or a ffmpeg stream detection issue - tried other skins with the same file?
System: XBMC HTPC with HDMI WASAPI & AudioEngine - Denon  AVR-3808CI  - Denon DVD-5900 Universal Player  - Denon DCM-27 CD-Changer
- Sony BDP-S580 Blu-Ray  - X-Box 360  - Android tablet wireless remote - 7.1 Streem/Axiom/Velodyne Surround System

Hi, two related threads: http://forum.xbmc.org/showthread.php?tid=138661 and http://forum.xbmc.org/showthread.php?tid=137516 .
In sum as DDDamian said, a ffmpeg stream detection issue.
Maybe this will change with the new ffmpeg version (1.1) after frodo, since one point of its changelog (http://git.videolan.org/?p=ffmpeg.git;a=...=Changelog ) is
Quote:- DTS-HD demuxer

Interesting, I wonder if that means ffmeg can now decode DTS-HD MA?

Not yet. Demux != decode.

Ah alright, probably being really dumb here, but what would be the point of a demuxer if you didn't have a decoder? unless it's just a stepping stone to full decode?

Btw, if anyone is interested this is the commit http://git.videolan.org/?p=ffmpeg.git;a=...e4740565b6

Basically the demuxer seperates the a/v packets out of the overall stream. Video goes to a decoder, audio to a decoder. In the case of TrueHD ffmpeg can decode to PCM, not so with DTS-HD MA - it still must be passed thru and decoded by an AVR.
