Remote connection problem
#1
Hi, Im at a lost why I can't get my Nexus S to work with the remote software. I have followed all suggestions I can find but with no luck. I can type http://192.168.0.1:8080/jsonrpc into a browser and see the code come up. I get the following message on my phone when i try to connect after putting in the IP address on the phone "Couldn't connect to XBMC. Please recheck the IP and Port. System reported:http://192.168.1.4:8080/xbmcCmds/abmcHttp?command=GetSystemInfo(120) does anyone have any advice or suggestions thanks

Welcome to the XBMC forums.

Are you running XBMC Frodo? If so, are you using the Frodo compatible version of the Android remote app?

But you still did not state which XBMC version you're running.
OK, just saw your new post. Glad you got it working! This will probably make it to the app store once the author feels it's ready for primetime.

You may want to ask or report any problems you are experiencing over on the thread I linked in my earlier post. It is still beta code after all.

I am getting this error on the new version of the XBMC Remote.

It looks like XBMC4XBOX has not implemented JSONRPC yet running the latest version v3.2. After a lot of playing found a beta version of remote v0.9.0 that has a tick box on the host config screen to say "use JSONRPC", but it is not on the release version on GooglePlay.

Anyone got any ideas? and could you roll this option into the release version?

If you have issues with the Frodo version of the remote control app, ask in the thread I linked in post #2 above.

BTW, XBMC4XBOX is no longer supported here. See here instead: http://www.xbmc4xbox.org.uk/
