Skipping frames and Audio dropouts OpenElec 2.99 RC2
#31
I also have this problem, skipping frames and audio drops. I'm using the fusion build with my asus E-350m. What can I do to help debugging?

Also I have another problem, some files when skipping frames the subtitles get out of sync, I have to stop playback and play it again to fix. In this situation the audio doens't drop, just a small skipping.

@francovilar:
Please supply the same logfiles as @wene did. Debugging turned on - play such a file from the local host directly and post the log afterwards. Also supply additional information like UMA size you have set and a kernel dmesg output. Put them in pastebins and get the links to them posted.

I don't think this is an issue at the application level.
22:05:26 T:2733620032 DEBUG: CVideoReferenceClock: detected 1 vblanks, missed 15, refreshrate might have changed

Maybe fglrx doesn't like bleeding edge kernels.

@wene and @francovilar:
Does only happens with 2.99.2 to make that sure at last? So with 2.99.1 everything is fine, right?

Could you both just for testin, disable "Vertical Blank" sync - despite the tearing what happens on screen (and in the log)?

Somebody over at OpenELEC just said, he has buffering issues when Vertical Blank Sync is enabled - so worth a try.

What is this one here: 13:16:51 T:139714011068160 DEBUG: NEWADDON PythonCallbackHandler construction with PyThreadState 0x7f11ac005950
Please remove the NEWADDON addon. It polls all the time.

Also change your dirtyregion setting to use method 3 and not 1

Reenable Vertical Blank Sync. And make two tests:

a) With Sync Playback to Display enabled
b) With Sync Playback to Display disabled

@wene:
Okay, this rules out a kernel 3.7 error - as the other betas still had 3.6.xy installed.
@francovilar:
That plugin is not called NEWADDON - it is a different one. tv.airtime probably? Other users also have your kind of problem: http://forum.xbmc.org/showthread.php?tid=144242 in conjunction with Python Addons.

@francovillar:
Also switch back to Confluence for further testing. Aeon-NOX is no good for testing such issues.

Don't have de tv.airtime, only tv show next aired will try next to disable and see the log. don' have acess to media center now. Can that be the problem?

move your .xbmc out of the way - just for testing.

Renamed .xbmc and same results...

Oki - so a nice fresh debug log with this empty .xbmc would be really nice!

Thank you in advance.
