Hi guys, first post here, I've looked around for weeks now (including a search here) for a solution but all i can find is results for Windows 7 or below.

I'm having a problem connecting to my Windows 8 laptop via SMB. I find WORKGROUP and my PC folders but whenever i try open them i get the Lock Settings page.

I've tried multiple Usernames and Passwords from "admin" to my pc ip address to my windows live @ account but keep getting the same Lock Settings page.

So frustrating so any help would be greatly appreciated!

ive always had this problem when connecting a new computer or after i format my hard drive. seems like if i right click on the folder and enable sharing and advance sharing for everyone and then restart both devices it eventually starts working.
