I'm using XBMC (v12 Frodo, latest release) to stream mkv from macbook (AFP), XBMC subtitles add on is activated. XBMC will instantly crash when I select and download a subtitle (middle button remote while playing movie). Interesting fact is, when using 1Channel/IceFilms downloading subtitles goes without a crash.

Just a guess, but it's probably an AFP related crash. The current AFP client that XBMC uses is very unstable and is no longer maintained. There's a replacement AFP client that we will use in the future, but it wasn't ready for v12.

The best thing to do is either use NFS (wiki) (if you use NFS Manager (wiki) it's pretty easy) or go back to SMB via SMBUp (wiki).
