Release Picture Slideshow Screensaver
#16
I like the idea of an external file. I am just not sure how that would be created. Would it be done by the user outside of XBMC? I would have no problem with that. Then the user could update it when they wanted. Or maybe make a separate add on that will create the file when the user runs it. Have it listed under programs or something. (I say this with a little knowledge of VB programming. I have no idea how easy or hard it would be to make for XBMC in python and I do not have the skills to help. Sorry. Just trying to think of how I would go about it in VB and offer ideas as I too would like a quicker start up.)

Its looks like it goes into the background... and the only way is to exit XBMC by pressing "S" -> exit.

i'm not sure what you mean by 'goes into the background' ?
what exactly happens on screen when you try to deactivate the screensaver?

Nice add-on, nice work.

But i have a problem with Aexon Nox 4.1.3 (Git from 15.02) and the xbmc alpha 13 nightly from 15.02

The pictures are broken. Only 10% from the picture war displayed.

Have you any idea?

i pushed an update yesterday to address some code changes in nightly builds.
you should've received the update by now...

doublecheck in you have v0.0.9 of the screensaver installed.

ah, ok... uninstall that one.
also remove it (manually) from the xbmc/addons/packages folder.

restart xbmc and install it from the repo this time.

Love the screensaver. I use it to display video fanart. I wanted to know if there is a way to get it to display the name of the TV-show or movie it's displaying fanart from. It seems that filename does not show anything, and foldername displays the beginning of the folderpath or a weblink.
Any tips? Smile

i've had a look at the code and i think it won't be to hard to add it.

i'll have a go at it.

I'm having the same problem (could upload a video if you cannot reproduce it).

Deleted the package file, uninstalled and reinstalled from repo 0.0.9

Running openelec 3 rc3

Thanks

thanx for the report mate.
oe includes a pre-12.1 version of xbmc.
sadly, i currently can not make the screensaver work correctly with that particular build.

you'll have to wait till oe3 rc4.

for now, just use either the slide or crossfade animations in the screensaver.
(i think those should still work)

Can the loading circle be replaced by the default loading icon of the installed skin? I love the screensaver, but the big circles don't really match my skin (aeon nox).
CoreElec on a tn95 (s905x). Onkyo NR-656. Canton Movie CD-1000. LG 55B6V.

If it ain't broke: break it, fix it, repeat

Love this screensaver, but is there any way to show the images in filename order?

Thanks for the quick reply. Good to know that it's possible. How fast do you think this can be implemented?

Having some issues with this in Frodo...

Pastebin here:
Code:
http://pastebin.com/w4hKNM2u

The screensaver takes a bit to load, then works wonderfully until I try to exit it, then it seems to ignore the input (regardless whether from mouse, keyboard, or WMCE 2005 remote) and continue panning the image. Then it will halt, leaving the image on the screen. Any ideas what is going on? I didn't seem to have this issue in Eden!
