Is there any way that someone could point me to a guide that actually works for getting VDR to work with Kodi 15 ?

I just lost a day of my life following the Kodi-VDR Wiki instructions everything installed and when I try to start VDR via VDR Manager in Kodi it says error VDR addon not installed ?

The only addon I had was the PVR VNSI which I enabled ?

So please tell me what I am missing ?

PS I am not that guy that knows how to compile or make, and I am running Kodi 15 on a Ubuntu Trusty install

I should add that I am not unwilling to learn how to do the "make" thing I am simply new to Ubuntu having just recently migrated from XP (decided I did not wanna do win 8 or 10) So I would prolly need detailed instructions like the ones I found to add my Huappauge 950Q digital USB Tuner here,

http://www.hauppauge.com/site/support/linux.html

seems I'm gonna learn how to make/build a new kernel Smile

So my next question is about the HD PVR 2 driver for Ubuntu they mention ,,,,, Will it work with Kodi- VDR ?

I would like to add that my tuner has been supported in Ubuntu distros for years now and it works great without me doing anything in MeTV (I'm currently installing MythTV to test it there) Seems Kodi is way behind in a few things?

If MeTV sees it as a plug & play device Kodi should be able to as well

I have no problem usin 2 programs to watch TV but would prefer Kodi work with everything if possible

Me TV works with DVB-T, DVB-S, DVB-C and ATSC devices that are supported by Linux kernel drivers. Application uses GTK+ libraries for user interface and VLC or Xine libraries for DVB TV. If you would like to add a new feature yourself then feel free to create your own branch in the Me TV project.

NOTE: Me-TV project currently needs new maintainer. If you like small and easy TV application and have an experience in C++ - please join to our team.
Latest versions for Ubuntu OS can be installed from https://launchpad.net/~me-tv-development/+archive repository.

Also records and has a guide (fillin in now) and does scheduled recording so now I'm curious as why Kodi doesn't just work ? Seems someone could look at the open source code from metv and do a kodi fix ? I'm not a programmer so perhaps it's not that simple?

I'll just do the MeTV for OTA TV untill I get a HDhomerun tuner Smile

it is not Kodi's job to recognise a tuner. It is the backend's job.
