XBMC on ATV2 5.2 / iOS 6.x support added
#1
XBMC won't run on iOS6.x for now. We are trying our best to change this fact but unfortunatly Apple did the same and changed alot for the current ATV2 Software 5.2 (iOS 6.1) which now makes our live hard when it comes to XBMC.

If you want to use XBMC on your ATV2 you need to stay on iOS Version 5.x or below!

XBMC will be working on AppleTV software 4.2.1 (ios4.x), 4.3(ios4.x), 4.4.4(ios4.x), 5.0.2(ios5.x), 5.2(ios6.1) soon Smile. We will push an update to the Frodo Release 12.0 to cydia so that Frodo will be compatible with 5.2 (ios6.1).

Any XBMC reason to update the ATV2 to iOS 6.x? I'm assuming there's less usable memory.

post a debug log (wiki) and the syslog (this is most important - i can't help you without syslog!)

I had a fight onmy hands when i updated to atv 5.2 before realising that xbmc was not supported (d'oh!). I too had all kinds of issues after installing nitoTV and performing an update which kinda updated Mobilesubstrate to 0.9.xxx which then gave me all kinds of dependancy issues.....

So downgraded back to 5.0.2 and staying here until everything is ironed out, can't see any real benefit to upgrade to 5.2 yet other than the bluetooth keyboard which i don't have anyways lol

We'll see what apple announce in the near future regarding the SDK. Lets hope atvFlash gets updated soon to include xvmc again Smile

Thanks guys btw, for all you help with everything xbmc related issues over the last few years
