Anyone know if Newegg is selling the newer M3's or not? They're out of stock on Amazon at the moment.

All new stock in retail channels are M3 for the last few months.

The little machines also do support Ubuntu, I haven't played around with the Ubuntu image yet, but last I read the HW acceleration is working there.
Here is a link to thier forum if you want to poke around and see if you are interested.

I think that Mali GPU 3D acceleration is working in the Feb 8/13th Ubuntu releases, but they don't have H264/MPEG2/VC-1 VPU (I think Samsung call it MFC?) hardware acceleration for video decoding yet.

I think some of the guys in these parts might be working on it though ?

Yep - very encouraging. We now need MFC support for H264/VC-1/MPEG2 hardware accelerated decoding! The U2 is very cute - though also appears very fragile. I just got one of these for mine : http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/ODROID-Case-La...3a7df0a697
