Flac audio files output as stereo (log attached)

i cannot seem to figure this out. all of my flac audio files are being played as stereo.

i have a 5770 sapphire ati radeon hd gpu with the latest drivers.
i'm using the amd high def audio drivers
i have amd hdmi output configured as my default audio source in windows 7 x64
both audio output and passthrough output are set to wasapi amd hdmi in xbmc
i have my speaker configuration set at 5.1 in xbmc
dolby digital capable receiver and all other capable option checked in xbmc
my htpc and toshiba LED are both connected to a denon 1909 receiver via hdmi

Doesn't look like anything is wrong fundamentally. Speaker layout is set correctly to 5.1, but the file is only stereo. It's doing exactly what it should, it would seem.

You can check to see if you have the output to all speakers option set, in the audio settings. Or you can set your receiver into a dsp mode that upmixes to all speakers. Personally, I'd go with the settings on the receiver route.

thank you for helping Jogee. Not sure why, but i was assuming that flac audio files were 5.1 and not stereo. that's why it was bugging me when my receiver was displaying "DTS Neo:6 music" same as what it does when i play an mp3 file. i guess i was expecting it to switch to some hd audio bitstreaming
