Hi guys,

guess from the topic the question is rather clear. Please forgive if the question may be stupid. I have no idea what the format of 3D BD movies is and if it takes more power to decode and display than 2D 1080p material:

Xtreamer Ultra 2: does it play Full HD 3D under OpenElec?

I don't have a 3D display, but a friend does (several) and wants to get the cheapest XBMC box that plays 3D smoothly for all of his Displays (passive 3D and also active, but shouldn't matter to XBMC I guess?). The Xtreamer Ultra 2 seemed a good candidate.

I have been looking into getting the Xtreamer Ultra 2 for myself (currenly using ATV1+CrystalHD+OpenElec). Want to make sure it will play all 3D stuff when I through out on my old TV and get one with passive 3D.

I found out the question is wrong.

XBMC only plays 3D SBS format, so no Full 1080p 3D with XBMC (yet).

Any box that can play 2D 1080p smoothly will play 3D SBS smoothly since it is the same amount of data.
