i have been playing around with m3u lists recently.
my goal is to build them on the pc (which is much easier) and then use them on the pc & xbmc at the same time.
here's how you do it...
a) create your playlist using a standard m3u builder (most apps)
b)edit the m3u with a text editor to remove any pathing specific to your pc...
example:
c:\music\no doubt\singles 1993-2003\no doubt - spiderwebs.mp3
turns into this...
no doubt\singles 1993-2003\no doubt - spiderwebs.mp3
notice there is nothing before the album folder (or however you store your music files)
you can easily do a 'replace' function and replace (in example above) "c:\music\" with nothing (i.e. leave blank / delete any characters)
c) then save the m3u
d) place the m3u in your main music folder where xbmc looks for the files.
*done*
now, xbmc will see the playlists and play them. your pc will also play the songs using the same list.
enjoy!
