When navigating in the meny XBMC sets up multiple http sessions to update artworks. With a very slow internet connection i takes about 5-6 sec to navigate in the movie library.
Is it possible to disable auto update artworks?

when you navigate xbmc doesnt update the artwork via the internet, it pulls up the pre-downloaded artwork (when you did a library update) from the cache on your harddrive.

You're slow internet connection will only have an effect when you do a library update.

the speed in getting the images from your cache depends on the read speed of your hard drive.

Why do navigation in xbmc runs slow when I set bandwidth limit on my network? And why set XBMC up multiple (10+-) http requests?

are you picking up your media from a networked drive, not local?

I suspect the multiple http connections are checking for updates.

The slowness could be down to you having a slow pc.

It will only check http URLs if the art isn't already on your machine. If it's on there, it won't check at all.
