Hi,

Will explain what im looking for:

Im looking to have a PVR server which can also store my music, films, tv shows etc

I would like to be able to play the PVR recordings from other tv's around the house (bedroom, kitchen, living room) and also watch tv through the PVR server at the other tv's via streaming via ethernet with a full EPG etc.

Is there any commercially available units able to do this like the boxee box but for xbmc?

Or is the best setup:


Nas with tv tuner (are there any around?) or server running windows/linux with tv tuners installed

Steaming to the 3 other locations running a small form factor box running xbmc?

You can make pvr on any computer which has USB (or any other interface) with connected TV tuner and has drivers for this tuner. I suppose even pi could do it (sd) but I would prefer something more powerful. My cheap celeron g540 can record and stream numerous channels at once. You can use such pvr (I use VDR) in multiple devices at once.

Im prob leaning towards a nas that can take a tuner card or a small form factor ready made box really. Would like HD so that counts the pi really like you said.
