IPTVSimple PVR-addon with XMLTV EGP
There is sources of the addon if you find what addon do except parse m3u and xmltv let's me know. ok?
Make a playlist with both the URL you added to IPTVPVR and the HTSP link to the same channel.

Play that from withing the Video section of XBMC. 100% sure it shows the exact same behaviour as you described. Yet it does not use the PVR section......
Or just open the M3U file you use within IPTVPVR from the video section. You will see the same high CPU ussuage. Yet it does not use the PVR section ....

I really don't get it. You ask a question because you do not know the technical know-how behind it. You than get answer from other possible more capable persons, hence the main plugin developer actually give you the answer and than........? You don't believe it? Don't ask the question if you are not open for the possible answers!
@j1nx
I believe the facts. I do not understand why you write posts about nothing? Bla-bla-bla... You did not give any value. Sorry.

@afedchin
How to try to solve the problem? As a "Team-XBMC Member", you try to consult with developers or better to create a official bug report in XBMC bugzilla?

P.S. On my old laptop (Windows XP, XBMC 12.3 with IPTV Simple add-on) I see the same problem with high CPU usage.

OK, whatever. I am done with it. Rofl

I don't think you will get anywhere Tongue
Maybe. But I'll try.

IPTV-simple addon, uses no backend, it runs on the same unit. Provides the channel url to XBMC dvdplayer and the player runs it.
Also, the type of stream has a lot to do with it. Quality as well (sd, hd), audio & video codecs ect..

I've been using XBMC and IPTV-simple for more than a year and never had any issues with this pvr-addon. The cpu usage on the streams that I use, is around 4%.
When I use HD streams the CPU usage increases, normaly.

Zorki I recomend you perform a test with those same streams that you are trying to play via IPTV-simple addon. Try to play them in XBMC without using a PVR addon.
Go to your userdata folder, and create a favourites.xml file, and add your url here. See here for more info: http://wiki.xbmc.org/index.php?title=Favourites.xml
Then start XBMC, navigate to your favourites and start the stream.

Can this pvr translate smb://, plugin and hdhomerun:// paths?

Hi, Love the Add-on, great job!!

As I am very new to using IPTV using XBMC, I was hoping someone could help me fix a problem I have creating a m3u file that can be read by your Add-on. I tried matching the recommend layout for the m3u file as described in this threat, however, 0 channels are imported once I select this m3u file from my local storage. Hope someone can point me to the problem or even fix the file for me?

Thanks in advance!

Here is the content of the m3u file I had created:

#EXTM3U tvg-shift=3
#EXTINF:-1, 1 HD
http://
#EXTINF:-1, 2 HD
http://
#EXTINF:-1, 3 HD
http://
@TheUser, did you even bother reading the first posts in this thread? Please use propper m3u formating

Hi Maniac, yes I did bother with reading the post you so positive point out. As I am not fully educated on the whole m3u extension, format and the http:// links I posted, I am myself not sure what part of the given data is similar to the requested format, as also some of them can be left out if needed. Maybe if you could give me an example how it should look for the first entry #EXTINF:-1, 1 HD
http://83.85.136.107:8001/1:0:1:5225:C99:3:EB0000:0:0:0:, I can than just change the rest myself according to your example.

Thanks for your support.
Never mind, found the problem to be with the file coding itself. After using a new m3u file and adding the iptv channels, it was working fine.
Does anyone have a problem with this addon on raspberry pi (openelec) i get constantly frezes after 5 minutes of iptv playback. I on openelec 4.0.4 it worked ok than i got notification that update 4.0.6 was ready and i made clean install a starting to get this problems, now i have tried versions 4.0.5, 4.0.4, 4.03, 4.0.2, ets and get constatly frezes. Has the addon been updated or is this problem of openelec?

thanks for any help and reply
Hi there, I am new to the iptv. I have installed xbmc on my jail broken Apple TV and installed the simple player. Not sure how to get and add a m3u playlist and I am struggling . Can someone please guide me?
Use filezilla or some other ftp tool to copy m3u playlist to raspberry. You then add it in settings of the addon (local path)
