As for radio channels, I'm going to add the feature asap. Thanks for your changes but they are incomplete.

Thanks very much,
After your remark I decided to have another look into it and created my own web server and it looks like the StatFile() does indeed works great with http, my previous tests used https.
So no go for using github or dropbox to distributed a m3u, but http server would work.

@dhead,

Thanks for your investigations. I think a setting named "Cache playlist/EPG files" will resolve issue with refreshing the remote files for users who use github or other like service for distribute their m3u. I will add this setting asap.

@afedchin,

I'll be happy to test it.

I just got my new HDHomeRun in the mail today (my roommate dropped my old one and broke it) and was excited to get off work and get it all setup using this PVR.

I got my channels list made and the EPG Data and finally sat down to try it out and none of the streams would load. RTSP, RTMP, HTTP, etc. all work fine, but the hdhomerun:// would not work. These function perfectly when used in a .strm file with XBMC but for some reason will not play in here.

Upon further searching, I found that this is a problem with the Demo PVR which I believe this is based off of. The problem was discussed here...
http://forum.xbmc.org/showthread.php?tid=140475

Do you know if this can be fixed? The exact error message is...

WARNING: CHomeRunFile::Read - buffer size too small, will most likely fail
#66
Could someone link to a demo .m3u and epg. I seem to be having trouble getting this system to work correctly.

Thank you.
#67
@CrimsonGT,
The XBMC should support URI like hdhomerun:// . The addon doesn't open any url, it provides them to the xbmc only.

@Aaron_Lloyd,
You can create m3u file manually by copying its content from my post at the first page. As for EPG you can use this link http://www.vipiko.tv/get?cur-xtv-tgz but it's in russian language.
#68
That was my thoughts as well and that is why I do not understand why this won't work. If I try and play the URL from a stream file, it works perfectly. If I use it in another addon, it works perfectly. It is just when I use it with this PVR addon that it fails to work.

From what was mentioned on that other thread I linked, when it plays correctly in XBMC, the URL passed to FFmpeg is in the format of "hdhomerun://..." but when passed from this PVR, the URL is passed to FFmpeg in the format of "pvr://channels/..."

Here is what it looks like when I add .strm files as a video source and play it that way:

Is that Opdenkamp? By the way, thanks for the help with this. Kind of a bummer getting my new HDHomeRun and having it not work on this Confused

I have tested the same thing with the same result as you.....hope this can be fixed. I really like this plugin it would bring my OTA and iptv together in the same plugin.

The plugin keeps asking for a DLL that I seem to be missing. Where can I find it/where should it be located?

Do you use version for windows? This error appears if you use the non-windows versions of plugin. Check %USERPROFILE\AppData\Roaming\XBMC\addons\pvr.iptvsimple folder for existence XBMC_IPTV_Simple_win32.dll file. If the folder contains XBMC_IPTV_Simple.pvr file then you are using the non-windows version.

Are any of you getting wierd refresh rate with the windows version? I've been running this addon on ubuntu and everything went smooth, but I decided to go back to Win7 and now I'm getting wierd playback with it. If I use the "official" IPTV software which I got for my channels it works flawless. Really wierd.
