i have atv1 running xbmc frodo wanting to set up live tv so i can ditch my sky box and simply use xbmc not too bothered about recording or pause rewind ect but would be nice to have these features too
what is the best usb tuner for this all i want is the freesat via my satalite dish

Dont think you can use ATV1 as a backend/front end for livetv/pvr. I could be wrong though.

My understanding is you need to have a backend with tv tuner (windows/mac/linux machine) and then ATV can be used as a front end.

ATV1 can be used as both frontend and backend. OpenELEC and Crystalbuntu can both have TVHeadend installed on ATV1. I'm not sure what is the best, but I have a Hauppauge 950Q that works really well.

so is your Hauppauge 950Q installed on your atv1 and all working fine
also is it all easy to set up
the backend frontend seems a bit confusing
