XBMC crashing from Movies menu only - with log

Apple TV Software 5.0.2 (4250)

The issue: I was using XBMC on ATV 2 since about 6 moths with no issue. I am using it to play movies, tv shows and music stored on an external hard drive connected to a laptop running Linux. This weekend for the first time while using XBMC 11 Eden, when I tried to play a movie, I got kicked out to the Apple menu. With further tries I noticed that this happens every time I access the movie library even if I don't try to play a movie - I am kicked out after a few seconds. If I try to play a movie I am kicked out instantly, irregardless if I access it from the Library or drilling down in the Files. This only happens for movies and not tv shows. Tv shows work fine. Also If I stay in the main menu and don't go in the Movies menu XBMC doesn't crash. Only that menu causes it.

Steps I took to fix it: 1. I upgraded to XBMC 12 Frodo via command line. Issue persisted. 2. I uninstalled XBMC via command line without unistalling the configuration and reinstalled XBMC (12 Frodo). Issue persisted. 3. I unistalled XBMC, all configuration and dependencies via command line and reinstalled it. The issue is still there.

I also have an Apple TV 1 running XBMC/Crystalbuntu and I have no issue playing the same movies with it.

Help, please!

No idea, but I would assume it was deleted when I uninstalled and reinstalled?

Have you got "automaticaly extract tumbnails" enabled ? Seems like it's opening some movies before crashing..

No idea, where do I check that? And why would that be a problem after a fresh install, when it was working perfectly for a long time?

From the wiki:
Turn off thumbnail generation (does not affect thumbnails from a library scan), XBMC > Settings > Video > File and deselect 'generate thumbnails'.

Thanks but again, there is no reason why this would become a problem from one day to another, and especially after a fresh install. is there anyone who can actually look at the log and tell me what's wrong?

Well for crashes we need the CrashReporter log ...

It should be in /var/mobile/Library/Logs/ right? There is nothing there...

Last night I noticed that If I access the Movies library while the computer on which they are stored is turned off, XBMC doesn't crash. Can it be somehow network related then? However my Apple TV 1 running XBMC has no problem accessing and playing the same movies from the same computer.

Did you find solution for this problem ?
