looking for some help building my first htpc

for my first build i would like for it to be able to play video record and play some games.

What type of games? Like emulators in xbmc or will this be a windows build for some PC gaming?

Your choice of http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.as...6822236343 x2 wd red is for a NAS set up. If you were looking at using it in a standard desktop setup and are looking for WD, should choose a Green, Black, or Blue. I actually have a Hitachi that is owned by WD which is a 4 TB drive.

Might also want to think about NOT using your video card, old gtx 460, but it really does not matter for purchasing stand point. The Core I5 with HD4000 graphics does a nice job for recording and play back. Most games would function fine as well.

Also for an extra $20 you could get a 128 GB Vertex 4 SSD.

Your case selection is nice but I am thinking you will need still purchase the 4 120 mm fans. Try to get the most silent as you can get as 4 120 mm fans could cause some noise.
