Hi,

Just wanted to post to thank the devs who have developed xbmc for IOS - particularly for ATV. It works really well and using the XBMC Remote for IOS makes it even nicer.

I am running latest IOS and xbmc 12 frodo. I have the library linked via SMB to both a NAS and and Apple Time Capsule. Both working fine.

I do have a couple of questions in relation to running xbmc on Apple TV 2:

1. The xbmc interface does not quite scale to my Sony LCD TV. A small part of UI is cut off top, bottom and sides. I have played with the settings on the TV and can't fix it. The standard ATV UI is fine. Any suggestions?

2. Is there a way to get xbmc to rescan one folder/share at startup? I have found the setting to do a full library scan but tend to dump my recently ripped files in a directory and I want these to be picked up when I start xbmc

3. Is there a quick way to get to the file/library item info screen. I know you can get to it my holding down menu and then selecting but I'd like a simple one click method to get to the movie info before you start the film

4. When xbmc is running, is it still possible to use other ATV features. Can you still AirPlay to ATV or do you need to exit from xbmc first? For me, xbmc crashes and exits when I try to AirPlay while it is running

That's all. Overall, it's very nice!

Great work

I'll take the easy ones...

1. Settings>System>Video Output>Video Calibration

2. [I'm sure there is, but I'll leave it to someone with more knowledge than I!]

3. Settings>Videos>File lists>Default select action
Set this to "Show Information". Then whenever you hit the main select button you'll go straight to the info screen for the item, which means you just use the play/pause button for playing instead.

4. Settings>Services>AirPlay
Turn this on, and disable it in the default ATV settings. So you can now just play it directly through XBMC rather than the default Apple service, which will crash XBMC

Is there a way to disable the mouse and touch support on the ATV? It's working great on the WIN/OSX machine

Quote:# How can I enable the side (bottom) menu on the atv? It would be nice to open it with a left turn ...

Settings > System > Input devices > Enable mouse and touch screen support and Settings > Personalize > Keyboard + Touch > Use touch screen / mouse input are both disabled.

It is disabled for atv2 because it has no mouse or touch. What is your problem?

My Problem is the skin Immersive.
The bottom menu (side menu) can currently only be controlled with the mouse (click on the corner icon). Unless you disable this setting, then it is possible to control with the arrows. But I can't control it with the Remote.

Ah Ok, on the Apple TV, it is disabled by default so is it a skin issue?
