OS X Dts problem (crackling noise)
#1
Hello i've xbmc installed on a last generation Mac Mini (10.8.2) connected in Hdmi to an Integra receiver, yesterday i was running for the first time a movie with dts audio and all i could hear was a crackling noise, the weird thing is that for movies with "normal audio formats i have to put optical/coaxial as audio output in the settings to hear any sound, if i select hdmi, no sound at all Sad

please help me Smile

crackling noises typically seem to be when you use the passthrough (..."capable receiver") options in Settings -> System -> Audio output. Uncheck all of those "capable receiver" options and it should stop. Basically you're hearing a raw format being pushed through, because XBMC thinks a receiver on the other side will understand it.

The only thing I can assume then is that your receiver is not correctly processing the DTS data.
