Crash after playing file (Frodo)
#1
Hey there,

I just upgraded my multimedia network (NAS+MySQL streaming to PC/Macbook/iPad) to Frodo v12.0 (stable). Everything worked so far, database upgrade etc.
I've been facing constant crashes on my iPad 4 (iOS 6.1.2) though. I can reproduce them like this:
If I open a video file and skip to the last quarter then play a couple of seconds and hit the "stop" button XBMC just FCs... This also happens if I end the video file manually instead of waiting for it to run out.
Its not a RAM problem but I do see this error right before the crash:
"CCoreAudioUnit::Close: Unable to disconnect AudioUnit. Error = -10860"

I'd like to test a nightly but afaik that doesnt work with my central MySQL database (without upgrading all devices to latest nightly?)

Thank you very much in advance

Breece

You could test out the nightly by 1) Copy over the XBMC MySQL Database to a new name (e.g. test_MyVideos) using MySQLDump 2) Save a copy of your XBMC directory 3) Change userdata/advancedsettings.xml to put <name>test_MyVideos</name> for mysql section. When your done testing 1) Tell MySQL to "Drop test_MyVideos" 2) Remove the test XBMC directory 3) copy back the original XBMC directory.

Thank you for that winestock. Do you have any clue on what kind of error this might be?

I don't know as I am not familar with the XBMC source code. What type of video are you playing (DVD, MKV, etc) when the crash happens?

"mkv"
Basically everything I have is in a mkv container, but I tried and reproduced it with other files as well..

you might have had the same problem as me. My problem was gone after I tried the build in this thread.

Thank you very much! So basically latest nightly should fix this... Is there a way to "sync" nightlies on iOS / MacOS / Windows ? (The question is how to use a nightly on my iPad and still connect to my central MySQL database and not just test it like Winestock suggested)

afaik db is still compatible with frodo in current nightlies...

Oh I will try that! Thank you! (I updated xbmc on my Windows Machine to v13 alpha and it looked like a database upgrade..)
I found a workaround btw: clicking on "pause" before stopping.

Just to confirm:
With xbmc-20130227-8d2e0fe-master-ios.deb my database still works AND the bug is gone. Thank you very much Memphiz!
