Hi All,

XBMC is an amazing software (and the reason i use an AppleTV) but at times i have seen that the color depth and clarity provided by a simple Airplay from my computer is much better than XBMC running on my AppleTV.
If I play the same .MP4 file using XBMC (the files are on my NAS and my AppleTV is connected to it over WiFi) it plays but not as good as if i play the same file from the itunes running on my laptop. I read a little on various threads and it seems that we can change the default video player for different files on other platforms (XBMC installed on desktop/ laptops).
Can I do something similar on AppleTV as well?
Is there some setting that i need to alter to improve the picture quality?

The files that are not of great resolution look pretty much same from XBMC as well as my laptop.
But the 1080P Bluray rips play significantly better from laptop-->Airplay to AppleTV--> My projector.

Am i missing something? or this is the limitation of AppleTV?

Bumping this thread up.
Am i the only one who has faced/noticed this issue?
Or there is no way we can make the picture quality better than what it already is in AppleTV 2 due to hardware limitations?
